The time has come to relive the intense playoff stretch that led to Joey Logano's third Cup Series championship. Netflix has released the trailer and set the premiere date for "Full Speed: Season 2."
The trailer provided the first look at the prominent storylines that will come into play over multiple episodes of the documentary series, starting on May 7.
One example is Christopher Bell's penalty at Martinsville and race manipulation by Chevrolet drivers, which led to Bell saying that he felt cheated during a press conference at Phoenix Raceway.
Daniel Suarez's struggles during the playoffs will also be a part of the series, as evidenced by his wife Julia Piquet saying that, "We sent our boy to war on a donkey, holding a wooden spoon."
The Netflix series, which debuted in January 2024, will once again focus on the 10 races making up the playoffs and some of the drivers in contention for the Cup Series title.
The camera crews will show the drivers going about their business during race weekends, but it will also show the highs and lows they experience away from the track. It will feature the loved ones who support these drivers throughout the season and their reactions to the biggest moments in pivotal races.
This group of drivers includes William Byron, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Tyler Reddick, Chase Briscoe, Suarez, Ryan Blaney, Logano, Austin Cindric, Ty Gibbs, Martin Truex Jr., Brad Keselowski, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, Harrison Burton, and Bell.
Netflix did not provide the full list of drivers who will appear in "Full Speed: Season 2." Keselowki and RFK Racing were not involved in the first season. Hendrick Motorsports driver Elliott indicated earlier this year that he would not participate in the documentary series.
The trailer featured quotes from Blaney and Logano, the two drivers who have combined to win every championship of the Gen 7 era. It also featured quotes from Briscoe, who scored Stewart-Haas Racing's final Cup Series win during the regular-season finale at Darlington Raceway.
