NASCAR Saturday schedule at Darlington Raceway


Two of the national NASCAR series are on track Saturday morning and afternoon at Darlington Raceway.

Xfinity Series teams will practice, qualify, and race at the 1.366-mile track known for cars hitting the wall. Cup Series teams will practice and qualify in advance of Sunday night's regular-season finale, the Southern 500.

Denny Hamlin and Kyle Larson have won two of the last three Xfinity races at Darlington. Neither will be in the lineup on Saturday afternoon. Instead, Christopher Bell and Chase Elliott will drive for Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports, respectively.

Elliott will be one of several drivers with an Xfinity win at Darlington in the packed lineup. He will join Justin Allgaier (three wins), Noah Gragson (two wins), Brandon Jones (one win), Cole Custer (one win), and Joey Logano (one win).

The Cup Series entry list will feature 37 cars. All will make the race. Timmy Hill will join the lineup as he drives the No. 66 for MBM Motorsports. Shane van Gisbergen will drive the No. 16 for Kaulig Racing. Kaz Grala will drive the No. 15 for Rick Ware Racing.

The WeatherUnderground forecast calls for partly cloudy skies with a possible stray thunderstorm. A high of 91 degrees and a 15% chance of rain at the start of the Xfinity race.
