I wonder how fans are going to feel about this one?

NASCAR -- already under fire for what fans consider to be gimmicks and rule changes that have hurt the sport -- is now including the iconic Talledega Raceway in one of its events designed to boost interest in its lower tier.

NASCAR announced Friday that it's Spring Xfinity series "Dash 4 Cash" grand slam events will be held on consecutive on consecutive weeks.

The races span from April 14 to May 5, starting at Bristol and then heading to Richmond Raceway on April 20, Talladega on April 28 and ended at Dover.

The news was reported by Autoweek.

"We're excited for the return of the very popular NASCAR Xfinity Series Dash 4 Cash program, which will take place at four unique racetracks in 2018," Jim Cassidy, NASCAR senior vice president of Racing Operations, said. "Each track demands different techniques and strategies, which will ultimately benefit the fans. It will again put a premium on the immense talent in the series, as the spotlight continues to shine on our rising stars during this four consecutive race stretch."

But, the spotlight could also shine on another NASCAR gimmick.
