NASCAR issues multi-race suspensions after Las Vegas race

NASCAR has issued multiple suspensions to members of multiple teams following the weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Four of these suspensions went to crew members at Richard Childress Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing due to lost tires on the track during last weekend's Cup Series race, which Josh Berry won.

Jackman Joseph Moser and rear tire changer Shiloh Windsor will both be away from Kyle Busch's No. 8 team for two weeks. They will be eligible to return after Martinsville Speedway on March 30, 2025.

Jackman Caleb Dirks and rear tire changer Daniel Smith will be away from Chase Briscoe's No. 19 team for two weeks while serving their suspensions. They will also be eligible to return after Martinsville Speedway.

Briscoe's No. 19 Toyota lost the left rear wheel in the opening stage of the race. He made a green flag pit stop and then headed back onto the track. His wheel detached and brought out the caution.

Busch's No. 8 Chevrolet lost a wheel during the Lap 115 restart. He wiggled and hit the outside wall as the wheel and tire detached from the car. The replay showed that the wheel had been sheared in half.

NASCAR also announced indefinite suspensions to Josiah Wright and Corbin Sklener for violations of the substance abuse policy. Sklener worked with GK Racing in the Truck Series race at Daytona and Mike Harmon Racing in the Xfinity Series race at Daytona.

Wright is a rear tire changer for the No. 6 team of Brad Keselowski at RFK Racing. According to NASCAR's Roster Portal, Coleman Dollarhide replaced Wright starting last weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The suspensions were the focal point of the weekly penalty report, but NASCAR also issued fines to multiple Xfinity Series teams and one Craftsman Truck Series team for having a loose lug nut at the end of the respective races.

The Xfinity teams of Josh Williams (Kaulig Racing), Aric Almirola (Joe Gibbs Racing), Dean Thompson (Sam Hunt Racing), and Connor Zilisch (JR Motorsports) all received $5,000 fines. The team of Justin Haley (Spire Motorsports) received a $2,500 fine.
