A lot of people feel that the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Series will have a big void to fill with the loss of some of its most popular drivers in Matt Kenseth, Danica Patrick, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.
The truth is, there will be a void, but Earnhardt took to Twitter to reassure fans that the sport will be in good hands.
There are a lot of young, promising drivers in the Cup Series that are really exciting to watch. Chase Elliott was just a win away from competing in the Championship 4 at Homestead. Although Elliott was unable to win a race, he did finish in second place five times, third place three times and had 12 top-5 finishes.
The group also includes Kyle Larson, winner of the Mobil 1 Driver of the Year award for 2017, who had four wins and 15 top-5 finishes. Erik Jones, NASCAR's Monster Energy Cup Series Rookie of the Year for 2017, who managed five top-5 finishes on the season.
With drivers like William Byron, Alex Bowman, Ryan Blaney, Daniel Suarez, Chris Buescher, Austin Dillon and Ty Dillon among the list of other notable young drivers, the sport looks to be in good shape for years to come.
Besides Dale Jr. gave the youth of the sport his seal of approval, that alone should be enough to peak the interest of the fan base.
