Darrell "Bubba" Wallace Jr. shot back into the national news when he drove the No. 99 Chevrolet Silverado and won the Camping World Truck Series race at Michigan International Speedway.

Wallace Jr. has been looking for a ride ever since funding dried up for his Xfinity Series team after just 12 races.

But if things go right, Wallace Jr. will have a ride in 2018, and at the Cup level, to boot.

Richard Petty Motorsports is looking for a sponsorship to add a second car that would be driven by the 23-year-old Wallace Jr., according to NESN. Currently, Aric Almirola drives the No. 43 Ford Fusion for RPM; Wallace subbed the Almirola when he was injured.
