Michael McDowell will have a new sponsor joining the lineup this season as he competes full-time for Spire Motorsports, starting with a double-duty weekend at Daytona International Speedway.
According to a press release, Go Bowling will join the Spire Motorsports portfolio while supporting the former Daytona 500 winner in three races this season. Two will be in the Cup Series while another will be in the Craftsman Truck Series.
The partnership starts Friday night with the season-opening Truck Series race at Daytona International Speedway. Go Bowling will take over the No. 07 Chevrolet Silverado RST as McDowell attempts to make his first Truck start since 2009.
Go Bowling will also join McDowell for the season-opening Daytona 500 on Sunday, Feb. 16 (2:30 p.m. ET on Fox). He will showcase the red-and-white scheme as he makes his first points-paying start in the No. 71 Chevrolet ZL1.
The third race on the Go Bowling schedule will take place on Aug. 10. The company will take over the No. 71 Chevrolet ZL1 at Watkins Glen International.
Go Bowling is also the title sponsor of the Cup Series race at the New York road course where McDowell has two top-10 finishes in the last three races.
"It's awesome to have a new partnership at Spire Motorsports with Go Bowling and it's a program that fits me very well," McDowell said in a press release. "Bowling is a family-friendly activity and one my whole family really enjoys. My wife and I just took our kids bowling last week and I can promise you, we had a ball.
"Bowling is something that we love to do as a family but we're also looking forward to getting on the racetrack in Daytona and later this year at Watkins Glen. We're looking forward to three exciting races where we think we have a shot to win each time out and we are very thankful to have Go Bowling as a partner."
