Kasey Kahne could be driving the #95 in 2018.

Leavine Family Racing is considering expanding to a two-car team in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series next year. That means an extra ride for a number of drivers looking for one. ESPN.com reports that Kasey Kahne is on a very, very short list.

Michael McDowell currently drives #95, but team owner Bob Leavine tells ESPN no decision has been made as to who will drive, regardless of one car or two.

"Michael has done absolutely nothing to remove himself out of the car. He's a close personal friend and he's done a phenomenal job for us this year. But things potentially could happen and change. No decision has been made."

Leavine says decisions for next year will depend on sponsorships.  For his part, Kahne said this week he's focused on a strong finish to this season.
