An uneventful Stage 1 of the Pure Michigan 400 ended with Kyle Busch being penalized after a miscommunication with his team.
Busch decided to make a visit to pit road, but pit road was closed. The team said they didn't know why he came down pit road, but the error resulted in a penalty, and Busch was forced to start Stage 2 at the back.

Busch's team didn't tell him that pit road was closed, either. The miscommunication cost Busch, but he still has time to make his way back to the front.
We'll see if the error costs Busch a chance at his second victory of the season.
