Kaulig Racing names new full-time Xfinity driver for 2025

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Kaulig Racing has made an announcement about its Xfinity Series lineup for the 2025 NASCAR season.

As announced during a media session at Daytona International Speedway, Daniel Dye will move to Xfinity full-time in 2025. He will drive the No. 10 Chevrolet Camaro, an entry that once featured Ross Chastain and Justin Haley. Team President Chris Rice also said at Daytona that the No. 97 will not compete in 2025.

Dye, who made the playoffs for the first time in the Craftsman Truck Series, has already made seven starts for Kaulig Racing this season. He finished outside the top 10 in his first three starts and then he scored his first top-10 finish at Iowa Speedway.

Dye added another top-10 finish at Indianapolis Motor Speedway before the Olympic break.

"Daniel has done a really great job for our team this season," Rice said in a statement. "He is invested in our program and putting in the time and effort to keep getting better.

"I've been able to spend a lot of time with him throughout the season, and we're looking forward to having him with us full-time in 2025."

The journey to a full-time ride with Kaulig Racing involved multiple people.

As Rice explained on Friday, veteran driver AJ Allmendinger was heavily involved in discussions back in April. The competition side of Kaulig also had to get team owner Matt Kaulig on board, something that occurred after a difficult race at Dover Motor Speedway.

"Daytona, we came in, we had so many cars Matt couldn't pick exactly which one he wanted to talk to, because it was so many cars," Rice said in response to a question from AltDriver. "But I think when he realized who he was and how well he can do is when we showed up at Dover.

"Like we showed up at Dover and (Daniel) almost missed the race, and then he should have finished top 10. I think that's when Matt was like, 'This kid's actually got it.' So I think that was the turning curve for Matt."

Dye will have multiple other opportunities to showcase his abilities for Kaulig Racing before taking over the No. 10 on a full-time basis. He will also drive the entry this season at Kansas Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and Phoenix Raceway.
