Katherine Legge expands schedule, adds several Cup starts

Katherine Legge previously revealed that she would return to NASCAR this season for multiple starts. Her full schedule is now available.

Legge will make seven starts in the Xfinity Series while driving for Jordan Anderson Racing. She will make five starts in the Cup Series while driving for Live Fast Motorsports, the team she joined earlier this season at Phoenix Raceway.

As the veteran racer told NBC Sports, she is coming back to prove that her multiple spins at Phoenix were just a "blip on the radar" and that she is a "damn good race car driver."

This schedule will begin this weekend at Rockingham Speedway. Legge will drive for Jordan Anderson Racing while competing in the Xfinity race, which will take place in front of sold-out grandstands.

Legge's Xfinity schedule will continue with a superspeedway and three intermediate tracks. Her Cup return will take place at Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez in Mexico City, the track where she previously won an ABB FIA Formula E race.

This Cup Series schedule primarily features road courses, which ties into Legge's racing background. However, she will return to an oval in August when she takes on Richmond Raceway.

This will provide an opportunity to gain experience on NASCAR's traditional tracks while rebounding from the incidents at Phoenix, which led to drivers criticizing NASCAR's approval process.

This schedule with Live Fast Motorsports and Jordan Anderson Racing may not be complete. The possibility remains that she will add more starts heading into the fall.
