Karsyn Elledge, Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s Niece, Somehow Uninjured After Terrifying Wreck

Karsyn Elledge, the niece of Dale Earnhardt Jr. and daughter of JR Motorsports co-owner Kelley Earnhardt Miller, had a serious scare at a USAC Racing midget car event Tuesday, though fortunately walked away uninjured, following a major wreck at Red Dirt Raceway in Oklahoma.

Video of the intense incident shows Elledge, who is in her first season in the USAC National Midget Series, lose control coming into Turn 3, flipping over the wall, and crashing hard into the ground outside of the track.

Thankfully, the North Carolina native was able to walk out of her race car on her own, and is seen talking to medical personnel shortly after the wreck, appearing not seriously injured but clearly shaken up.

Elledge tweeted the following statement hours after the crash.

"Tonight I am so very thankful that all my safety equipment did it's job & that my team built a safe car. Thank you to everyone who's reached out, I am sore, but most hurt is my pride. I give it my all every night & I hate that I let everyone down. This sport is so humbling & I hope that we can put all this behind us & continue moving forward. Thank you to everyone who's continued to support me."

As you can probably imagine, watching the whole thing had to have been terrifying Kelley Earnhardt Miller. Not only as the mother of Karsyn, but also as the daughter of the late Dale Earnhardt Sr., who famously lost his life following a wreck at the 2001 Daytona 500.

Fortunately, everything ended up being okay, but that didn't stop Earnhardt Miller from offering her two cents on social media once the dust had settled.
