JR Motorsports has locked up a primary partner for multiple years after reaching an extension with Carolina Carports.
The North Carolina-based company will serve as the primary partner for five Xfinity Series races in 2025. Three will be with Connor Zilisch, who will drive the No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro full-time. JR Motorsports did not detail the races where Carolina Carports will take over the entry.
The company will serve as the primary sponsor for another driver and car during two events. This announcement will come at a later date considering that JR Motorsports still has more details to provide about the 2025 lineup.
"It's really special for us to continue this partnership with Adela and everyone at Carolina Carports," said JR Motorsports CEO Kelley Earnhardt Miller in a statement.
"It's significant when we have partners see the value in our team and want that relationship to continue. I can't wait to see how this partnership expands in 2025."
Along with joining JRM for five events in 2025, Carolina Carports will also return to the company later this season. It will take over the No. 88 Chevrolet at Watkins Glen International as Zilisch makes his Xfinity Series debut on Sept. 14.
Carolina Carports has had a presence on multiple JR Motorsports cars this season. The company took over the No. 1 of Sam Mayer for two races -- Daytona International Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway.
It took over the No. 7 of Justin Allgaier for the race at Pocono Raceway as the veteran driver finished second in the running order behind Cole Custer.
Carolina Carports enjoyed a considerable amount of time in the spotlight thanks to a wild finish at Texas Motor Speedway. Ryan Sieg was in the lead during the final 11-lap stretch of the race at the 1.5-mile track. It appeared that he was en route to his first career win in the series.
However, Mayer was quickly closing the gap.
Mayer closed to within half of a second with two laps remaining. He used the bottom line to get clean air while Sieg raced in the middle of the track. Mayer was within three-tenths of a second as Sieg took the white flag and then he got alongside the RSS Racing driver coming out of Turn 2.

Mayer took the lead entering Turn 4, but he wiggled and opened up an opportunity for Sieg to charge back. The two drivers were side-by-side crossing the finish line in a photo finish. Mayer ultimately won by 0.002 seconds, tying two other races for the second-closest finish in Xfinity Series history.
Sieg missed out on his first career win by the slimmest of margins while Mayer took Carolina Carports to victory lane for the first time.
