Indianapolis Motor Speedway has been around since 1909, and the historic track has seen plenty of renovation over the last 108 years.
If you've ever been curious to see how Indianapolis Motor Speedway has changed over the years, president J. Douglas Boles posted a picture showing the various layers of the track from repaves.

It's fascinating how the original surface in 1909 was creek gravel and limestone. The famous bricks were laid later that year, and then asphalt was later added decades later.
There have been a few changes and repaves in recent years, but it's really cool to see how one of the most historic tracks in the country has changed over time.
