How to watch Xfinity race at Watkins Glen: Start time, TV info


Xfinity Series teams return to New York on Saturday for a race at Watkins Glen International.

This race marks one of two remaining events before the start of the playoffs. Four spots remain open above the cutline, so at least two drivers will lock up a spot on points alone.

This race will be the 30th time that the Xfinity Series has competed at Watkins Glen, dating back to Terry Labonte's win in 1991. Sam Mayer is the defending winner.

Weather: The WeatherUnderground forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a high around 85 degrees. A high of 83 degrees and a 1% chance of rain at the start of the Xfinity race.

Green flag time: The command to fire engines will be at 2:55 p.m. ET. The green flag will wave at 3:06 p.m. ET.

Starting lineup: Connor Zilisch won the pole for his Xfinity Series debut. Full lineup.

Pre-race: Driver introductions will take place at 2:20 p.m. ET. Pre-race coverage begins with "Countdown to Green" on USA Network at 2:30 p.m. ET. Race coverage continues on USA Network at 3 p.m. ET.

Stages: The race will consist of three stages. The first stage ends at Lap 20. The second stage ends at Lap 40. The scheduled end of the race is Lap 82.

Playoff picture: Eight drivers have locked up spots in the playoffs. Justin Allgaier, Mayer, and Chandler Smith all have two wins. Riley Herbst, Jesse Love, and Cole Custer each have one win. Shane van Gisbergen and Austin Hill lead the series with three wins each.

AJ Allmendinger leads the drivers who are winless this season. He is 144 points above the playoff cutline heading to a track where he has three runner-up finishes in four Xfinity starts.

Sheldon Creed is just behind Allmendinger. He is 123 points above the cutline. Parker Kligerman is 74 points above the cutline while Sammy Smith is the last driver in a playoff spot at 44 points above the cutline.

Past winners: Multiple drivers in the lineup have Xfinity Series wins at Watkins Glen International. Mayer won last season's race while Ty Gibbs won in 2021. Joey Logano, who joins AM Racing for another start, has three Xfinity wins at the 2.45-mile road course.
