Hendrick Motorsports unveils packed Xfinity Series schedule

Hendrick Motorsports returns to the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season. The team will compete in its busiest schedule yet while relying on multiple drivers.

According to a Wednesday announcement, the No. 17 Chevrolet will take part in 16 races this season, starting with Circuit of the Americas. William Byron and Kyle Larson will each make two starts. Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman will each make one start. Development driver Corey Day will make 10 starts.

Crew chief Adam Wall will lead the No. 17 team this season as he takes over for Greg Ives. Wall spent last season as a crew chief for JR Motorsports. He guided Brandon Jones for 10 races and Sammy Smith for 23 races. Wall also served as an engineer at Hendrick Motorsports for several years and won the 2021 Cup Series championship with Larson.

"Hendrick Motorsports has opened a lot of doors for me," Wall said in a press release. "Because of the valuable experience I've gained, I feel very prepared for this opportunity.

"I'm excited about the chance to go racing with our Cup drivers and work with a young talent like Corey. Anyone who follows dirt knows he's the real deal. We have high expectations as a team and look forward to a great year."
