Hailie Deegan will return to a race car this weekend as she joins forces with a four-time NASCAR Cup Series winner.
Deegan, who recently parted ways with AM Racing's Xfinity team, will join Ken Schrader for the SpeedTour All-Star Race at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut. The two will be co-drivers during the 60-minute event that pays $50,000 to the winning team.
The SpeedTour All-Star Race will feature 16 drivers from a variety of motorsports series competing in identical TA2 spec racecars. These all-stars will qualify for the July 20 race and then they will drive during the first segment.
A mid-race pit stop will then provide opportunities for competitors from the Trans Am Series to get behind the wheel of the cars and close out the race. Schrader will start the race and then Deegan will take over after the pit stop.
The list of All-Star drivers includes the following:
- Ken Schrader
- Mike Skinner
- Scott Speed
- Danny Sullivan
- Boris Said
- Max Papis
- Ryan Newman
- Paul Menard
- Pippa Mann
- Bobby Labonte
- Davy Jones
- Ron Hornaday
- Davey Hamilton
- Ron Fellows
- Greg Biffle
- Geoff Brabham
"We're really excited to debut the SpeedTour All-Star Race," said Tony Parella, CEO of Parella Motorsports Holdings, in a statement. "The concept draws off the Vintage Race of Champions (VROC) format that we featured pre-COVID, but by using the spec TA2 cars and pairing the legend drivers with our current TA2 drivers, it will take this event to the next level.
"Lime Rock Park has been a fantastic partner for many years, and the fans in New England have been great supporters of our SpeedTour events, so I am excited to bring this show to them and look forward to seeing everyone in July."
The SpeedTour All-Star Race schedule will begin on Friday, July 19. The drivers will take part in a 30-minute practice session and then they will qualify at the 1.5-mile Connecticut road course.
The action continues on Saturday, July 20, with the All-Star Race at 12:30 p.m. ET. MAVTV will provide coverage with two-time Indy 500 champion Al Unser Jr. as the color commentator. Coverage will also be available on the SpeedTour YouTube channel.
