Greg Biffle returns to racing roots with one-off start

Pacific Northwest native Greg Biffle is returning to his racing roots as he makes a one-off start in the ARCA Menards Series West.

According to a press release, the Biff will compete in the NAPA Auto Care 150 at Tri-City Raceway in West Richland, Washington. He will drive the No. 23 for Sigma Performance Services on Aug. 10 as he makes his return to the half-mile tri-oval where he has achieved success.

"I'm so excited to return to the famous Tri-City Raceway in the Tri-Cities, Washington area," Biffle said in a press release. "I'm looking forward to returning to the track in an ARCA West car almost 30 years after I won the track championship.

"It's an honor to drive for one of the teams well-known in the sport, and I'm very grateful for the opportunity to return to racing at this historic Northwest race track."

The ARCA West race will take place at 7:30 p.m. PT/10:30 p.m. ET on Aug. 10. FloRacing will provide coverage for the race as Biffle returns to action.

Biffle, a member of NASCAR's 75 Greatest Drivers list, is no stranger to success in a variety of vehicles. His career has featured trips to victory lane in the NASCAR Northwest Series, Craftsman Truck Series, Xfinity Series, and Cup Series.

Biffle won 17 races in the Truck Series, including a career-high nine in 1999. He added another five wins and a championship to his resume in 2000.

His most recent win in the series was in 2019 as he joined Kyle Busch Motorsports for a one-off race at Texas Motor Speedway. The Biff won the race and the $50,000 prize for the Triple Truck Challenge.

Biffle achieved even more success in the Xfinity Series with 20 trips to victory lane. He won the championship in 2002 after winning four of the 34 Xfinity races. He ended the season 280 points ahead of Jason Keller, who also won four races.

Biffle never won a championship in the Cup Series, but he came close. He finished second in the standings in 2005 after winning six races and third in the standings in 2008 after winning two races. Tony Stewart won the title in 2005 while Jimmie Johnson won the title in 2008.

Biffle won 19 Cup races during his career. He achieved the most success at Homestead-Miami Speedway (three wins) and Michigan International Speedway (four wins).
