The NASCAR weekend at Nashville Superspeedway kicks off Friday afternoon with one of the national series getting on track.
Craftsman Truck Series teams will be in action on Friday for the 12th race of the season. This is the 18th time that Truck Series teams have competed at the 1.33-mile track outside of Lebanon, Tennessee.
Thirty-two teams will be on the entry list for Friday's Truck Series race. This includes guest drivers in Kyle Busch, William Sawalich, Tyler Tomassi, and Corey Day. Additionally, Akinori Ogata will make his second start of the season with the team he founded.

Friday forecast: The WeatherUnderground forecast calls for showers early and then scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon. A high of 69 degrees and a 4% chance of rain at the start of the Truck Series race.

Playoff picture: Truck Series teams have competed in 11 races this season. Four drivers have locked up spots in the playoffs. Daniel Hemric and Tyler Ankrum each have one win. Chandler Smith has two wins. Corey Heim, the points leader, leads the series with four wins and 28 playoff points.
The Truck Series playoffs feature 10 drivers. Stewart Friesen is the driver currently above the cutline with 291 points. Rookie Giovanni Ruggiero is the first driver out of a playoff spot with 284 points. Two-time champion Ben Rhodes is two spots below the cutline with 281 points.
Past winners: Nashville Superspeedway has featured two different eras of the Truck Series. Teams first competed at the Tennessee track between 2001 and '11. The track left the schedule but then returned in 2021. Ryan Preece, who will not be in the lineup, won back-to-back Truck races at Nashville Superspeedway. Carson Hocevar and Christian Eckes then each won once.
None of these drivers will be in the lineup. The only driver with a past win at Nashville Superspeedway is Busch, who won back in 2010 and '11.
