Have you ever wondered what a Formula One team does in their spare time? Well, I think I've found the answer. This compilation video showcases different teams using their F1 cars to recreate National Anthems and other well known songs using only the exhaust note from the race car. Check it out!
While I was only expecting these songs to slightly resemble the original, I was pleasantly surprised to hear how well they did some of these. I knew these race cars were packed with technology, but I'm still wildly impressed that these mechanics can just upload a song to the ECU and have the engine play it back automatically. The way it can change notes so quickly just goes to show exactly how fast the throttle response is on a car like this.

One of my personal favorites from this video has got to be the Top Gun theme song. They absolutely nailed it, and that's one hell of a way to get your driver ready for racing. Talk about motivating! Another cool one was when they played the Happy Birthday song. If you couldn't tell by the entire crew holding their ears, these Formula One cars are extremely loud, but I have to admit they make a pretty good instrument.
After hearing them play the National Anthem for multiple countries, I feel like this should be a regularly occurring thing. Imagine starting off each race using the cars to play the Nation Anthem. That would definitely be pretty epic. I'm not sure who first figured out they could do this to their car, but I can only imagine the look on the rest of the teams' faces when they heard it. These tech guys that work on these race cars are just too smart for their own good!
