DraftKings makes the leap to new team on 2-race deal

DraftKings previously sponsored 23XI Racing drivers, but the sports betting platform will make the leap to a new team as part of a two-race deal.

According to a press release, DraftKings will join forces with Kaulig Racing and the No. 10 team of Ty Dillon. The company will take over the No. 10 Chevrolet with a black, orange, and green scheme, which will debut at World Wide Technology Raceway on Sept. 7.

The multi-colored scheme will then return for the trip to Kansas Speedway in late September. Dillon will showcase as it as he makes his 16th career start at the intermediate track.

This partnership between Dillon and DraftKings makes sense considering that the sports betting platform presented the inaugural in-season challenge.

Dillon started as the 32 seed, but he survived and advanced through the rounds before making it to the championship battle. He became the biggest story of the challenge.

The Kaulig Racing driver ultimately finished second in the in-season challenge finale behind Ty Gibbs, who locked up the $1 million prize.

"I am passionate about delivering fans the best experience possible, which is why it is so exciting to be working alongside DraftKings," Dillon said in a press release.

"It's an iconic brand that's become synonymous with innovation and fan engagement, offering a responsible and entertaining way for fans to get even more invested in the action. I'm proud to have DraftKings on the No. 10 Chevrolet, and honored to have them join us this season."

Dillon is not the only Kaulig Racing driver securing sponsorship for upcoming races. AJ Allmendinger and the No. 16 team have reunited with Black's Tire Service for two races.

The blue and white scheme will appear this weekend at Richmond Raceway as Allmendinger tries to win his way into the Cup Series playoffs. It will then return for the Southern 500 crown jewel race at Darlington Raceway on Aug. 31.

Black's Tire Service previously supported Allmendinger during a Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway. The company also sponsored Xfinity Series driver Christian Eckes during events at Darlington Raceway and Rockingham Speedway.
