Flashback Video Shows Donald Trump at '98 NASCAR Cup Series Race

It's no secret that former president Donald Trump loves his toys. But, Trump doesn't only like driving fast cars. He likes watching the pros drive them, too. Add in his love of folks going crazy in the stands, and you've go the perfect recipe for a NASCAR fan.

Donald Trump being a NASCAR fan isn't a huge revelation. However, it is cool to learn that Donald is a longtime fan and has an appreciation for the sport that spans decades. What's even cooler is that his age never impeded Trump's fandom. Check out this short clip of Donald enjoying a NASCAR Cup Series race in 1998.

Trump's Love of NASCAR

The clip is of Donald Trump at the MBNA Gold 400 at Dover Downs Speedway, which is now Dover International Speedway. All evidence indicates that Trump has been a longtime fan of NASCAR, and he has expressed his admiration of the sport multiple times. You may also remember that at the 2020 Daytona 500, Trump even took a warmup lap around Daytona International Speedway in his presidential limo.

Donald's relationship with NASCAR hasn't always been smooth sailing, but it's hard to deny that the sport is one of his absolute favorites.

Trump's relationship with NASCAR is special. How many ex-presidents do you know that have done laps on a NASCAR track? Despite the controversy regarding Trump and the ongoing politics surrounding NASCAR, it's clear that his fandom has strong roots.

Chances are that Trump won't be able to resist the track again. If he does happen to attend a race, he may just steal the show. Whether NASCAR still loves Trump is debatable, but history says that Trump loves NASCAR and that love for speed probably isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
