Post-race inspection means awful news for Denny Hamlin and Joe Gibbs racing

Denny Hamlin had his thrilling win at Darlington encumbered and Joe Gibbs racing's crew chief  was hit with a $50,000 fine after a NASCAR post-race inspection uncovered an L1 violation.

NASCAR announced the news via its website, NASCAR.com.

The No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing was flagged for a rear suspension violation.

Crew chief Mike Wheeler was slapped with $50,000 fine and suspended for two races. The team lost 25 owner points and 25 driver points, in addition to Hamlin's first-place finish being ruled encumbered.

That wasn't the only bad news for JGR. In the XFINITY Series, the No. 18  was also flagged for a rear suspension violation. Crew chief Eric Phillips was fined $25,000 and suspended from two races.
