We've talked a lot about NASCAR's young guns making a statement at Daytona, but this definitely takes it to a whole new level.

The Daytona International Speedway has announced that the USAC quarter midget series .25, which features drivers ages 5-13, will have its season-opening race at the track during speedweeks in February, according to a report from nbcsports.com. This is the first time the series has raced at Daytona.

"We want to assure that the investment in time and money the families are making will provide experiences and memories that last a lifetime," said USAC President Kevin Miller. "What better way to give our competitors and their families the incredible opportunity to race where nearly all of the greats have than beginning our national season at Daytona."

The series race will be held February 9-11 running on a temporary 1/20-mile tri oval set up inside the track. The Daytona 500 will run the following Sunday on February 18th.
