Daniel Suarez back in the No. 99 after signing extension

Daniel Suarez has been with Trackhouse Racing since the start of the 2021 season, and he will remain in the No. 99 after signing a contract extension.

According to a press release, the Mexico native will be back for the 2025 season along with a key primary partner. Freeway Insurance also signed an extension to sponsor Suarez and the No. 99 team in one-third of the Cup races, including the Daytona 500.

This extension keeps Suarez and Freeway Insurance around for their fifth season with the Cup Series organization.

"Everyone at Trackhouse Racing is pleased to continue the relationship with Daniel and Freeway Insurance," said Justin Marks in a statement.

"Daniel has been vital to this team and its culture since the first day. Freeway joined that same year and we have all continued to grow together and will continue into 2025."

Suarez has achieved success since joining Trackhouse Racing. The 2016 Xfinity Series champion won his first Cup race in 2022 at Sonoma Raceway. He then won his second this season at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Suarez is once again in the playoffs and in pursuit of a championship.

While Suarez's contract was set to expire at the end of the season, he continued to express confidence about his return to the No. 99 for another season. He told media members at Darlington Raceway in May that the extension was in progress.

Suarez made his move to the Cup Series in 2017 after the sudden retirement of Carl Edwards. He has remained full-time at NASCAR's top level while suiting up for a variety of teams.

Suarez spent two seasons with Joe Gibbs Racing and one with Stewart-Haas Racing. He spent the 2020 season with Gaunt Brothers Racing.

His fortunes changed when he joined forces with Marks and Trackhouse Racing in 2021.

"Trackhouse is home to me and I have enjoyed every minute I have been here," Suarez said in a statement. "We plan to keep working, growing, and winning more races.

"We can only do that with the support of my Amigos and Amigas at Freeway Insurance. They have backed me for the last several years and we have grown close with their customers and employees."
