Carson Hocevar will lead the Cup Series field to the green flag Sunday afternoon at Texas Motor Speedway.
Hocevar won the pole with a lap of 28.175 seconds. This is his first time winning the pole in the NASCAR Cup Series. His previous best starting position this season was third at Phoenix Raceway.
Hocevar was also the fastest driver during Cup Series practice. He went out in Group 2 and hit 190.894 mph.

William Byron, the winner of the 2023 race at Texas Motor Speedway, qualified second with a lap of 28.189 seconds. This is his second time starting on the front row for a Cup race at the 1.5-mile track.
Byron was followed by Austin Cindric (28.195), Kyle Larson (28.210), Michael McDowell (28.223), Ty Gibbs (28.229), Josh Berry (28.233), Denny Hamlin (28.248), Bubba Wallace (28.249), and AJ Allmendinger (28.276).
"I think our guys have done a really great job at Team Penske of giving us really fast Mustangs on these intermediate tracks and applying what we have learned from last year and early this year to today," Cindric said after qualifying.
"It will be a big test for tomorrow, but so far we have checked a lot of those boxes."
Chase Elliott, the winner of last season's race at Texas Motor Speedway, qualified 29th with a lap of 28.588 seconds. Tyler Reddick, the only other driver with a Cup win at Texas in the Gen 7 era, qualified 17th with a lap of 28.363 seconds.
The Cup Series race will take place on Sunday, May 4. FS1 will get the coverage going at 2 p.m. ET with "NASCAR RaceDay." Race coverage will continue at 3:30 p.m. ET on FS1.
Actor Shea Whigham will give the command to fire engines at 3:32 p.m. ET. Sebastian Wuerth from the Wurth Group will wave the green flag to start the race at 3:43 p.m. ET. The Cup race will consist of 267 laps. Stage 1 will end at Lap 80. Stage 2 will end at Lap 165.
