Cracker Barrel 400 starting lineup: Chase Briscoe wins pole

Chase Briscoe will lead the field to the green flag for Sunday's Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway (7 p.m. ET on Prime Video).

Briscoe won the pole at the 1.33-mile track with a lap of 29.125 seconds. This was his third pole win of the season and the second in a row. Briscoe also won the pole for last weekend's Coca-Cola 600.

Denny Hamlin, who is on baby watch, qualified second with a lap of 29.174 seconds. He helped lock out an all-Toyota front row.

Hamlin was followed by William Byron (29.307), Tyler Reddick (29.308), Ross Chastain (29.310), Brad Keselowski (29.377), Christopher Bell (29.387), Michael McDowell (29.397), Joey Logano (29.434), and Chris Buescher (29.443).

Logano and Chastain were the only two Nashville Cup winners to qualify inside the top 10. Chase Elliott, the winner of the 2022 Cup race at the 1.33-mile track, qualified 11th with a lap of 29.477 seconds. 2021 winner Kyle Larson qualified 28th with a lap of 29.778 seconds.

This qualifying session featured multiple track records. Bubba Wallace was first. He completed a lap in 29.526 seconds at 162.162 mph. This beat Aric Amirola's track record from 2021, which was 29.557 seconds at 161.922 mph.

Wallace's record did not last. Buescher broke it with a 29.443-second lap, and then Reddick went even quicker at 29.308 seconds. The track records then continued with Hamlin and Briscoe.

Hamlin qualifying inside the top 10 at Nashville Superspeedway is nothing out of the ordinary. He has done so four times in five trips to the track while winning the pole twice.

Briscoe, for comparison, started 16th, 28th, 18th, and 19th in the first four Cup Series races there. This pole win is a new career milestone. It also sets him up with an early chance to score stage points as he pursues his first top-20 finish at Nashville Superspeedway.

Briscoe will get this opportunity Sunday at 7 p.m. ET when the Cup Series teams line up for the Cracker Barrel 400. Prime Video will provide coverage while continuing its portion of the broadcast schedule.
