Cole Custer will have a familiar name on his No. 41 Haas Factory Team Ford Mustang Dark Horse for two races this season. He has reunited with Autodesk, a sponsor he has taken to victory lane multiple times.
Autodesk is a provider of software built for multiple industries. This includes architecture, engineering, construction, design and manufacturing, media, and entertainment.
According to a press release, Autodesk will be Custer's primary sponsor for two Cup Series races. The first will be this weekend's trip to Homestead-Miami Speedway, the site of his first career Xfinity Series win.
The second will be the July road course race at Sonoma Raceway. The company will specifically take over the hood of Custer's No. 41 Ford for the Sonoma event.
The partnership with Autodesk is nothing new for the California native. He previously joined forces with the company during the 2018 Xfinity Series season. He quickly took Autodesk to victory lane with a playoff win at Texas Motor Speedway.
The partnership continued with the 2019 Xfinity Series season and then for three Cup Series seasons (2020-22). Custer's best finish with Autodesk on his Cup Series car was fifth place in the 2020 Brickyard 400.
Autodesk continued to support Custer when he returned to the Xfinity Series. The company joined him for three races last season, headlined by a sixth-place finish at Portland International Raceway.
The partnership will continue as Custer aims to turn his season around after falling to 35th in the standings. He has shown speed at times but has also been involved in incidents in multiple races this season. This includes the Daytona 500 when he went from contending to the win on the final lap to a 21st-place finish.
The ties between Autodesk and NASCAR also featured another driver. The company sponsored Ryan Preece for four Cup Series races during the 2023 season. His best finish with Autodesk as his primary sponsor was 11th at the Charlotte Roval.
