Is it 2010 or 2025? NASCAR fans will have to answer this question during Throwback Weekend as they watch a Jamie McMurray scheme completing laps at Darlington Raceway.
According to a reveal on March 24, Carson Kvapil will showcase a version of McMurray's Bass Pro Shops scheme during the Xfinity Series race at Darlington on April 5. His JR Motorsports Chevrolet will feature the same door number and the same orange base. It will have a similar Bass Pro Shops logo on the hood.
It’s officially throwback season at @JRMotorsports - and we think we helped pull off a pretty sweet surprise for @jamiemcmurray during Door Bumper Clear with help from @Carson_Kvapil. 👀 pic.twitter.com/R0V4cRR8pm

The main difference between the two Chevrolet schemes will be the sides. McMurray's car had Tracker Boats logos on the side of his Earnhardt Ganassi Racing Chevrolet. Kvapil's car will have Clarience Technologies text on the sides as part of an existing sponsorship deal.
"I can tell you, I've watched these throwback schemes for years, and I've always wondered if one would happen," McMurray told Kvapil after the reveal. "Part of me makes it sad because it makes me feel really old.
"But the other part, it's really, really cool to see that on the race track, and I'm doing that race (for CW Sports), obviously."
The 2010 season was significant for McMurray as he finished 14th in the championship standings and celebrated success at multiple tracks.
He scored a career-best three wins and four pole wins behind the wheel of the No. 1 Chevrolet. He won two crown jewel events -- the Daytona 500 and the Brickyard 400 -- and he captured the fall race at Charlotte.
McMurray had the orange Bass Pro Shops/Tracker Boats scheme on his No. 1 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for all three of these wins, and he became very adept at saying "No. 1 Bass Pro Chevrolet" during interviews.
Fifteen years later, McMurray will have to frequently say this number and sponsor as he watches his former scheme traveling around Darlington Raceway. This time, it will be a rookie driver completing laps while battling for an Xfinity Series win and a guaranteed spot in the playoffs.
