Christian Eckes has his focus on punching his ticket to the Xfinity Series playoffs, but he still has some unfinished business in the Craftsman Truck Series.
Now, he will aim to complete it while reuniting with McAnally-Hilgemann Racing for two select starts this season. He will return to his former team to drive the No. 16 Chevrolet Silverado RST at Richmond Raceway on Aug. 15 and New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sept. 20. Both weeks, the Xfinity Series teams are idle.
Eckes will reunite with NAPA Auto Parts for the race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, a sponsor that he took to victory lane as a primary and associate partner in Truck Series competition. He will have AAA Premium Battery as his primary partner during the race at Richmond Raceway.

The Virginia track is one where Eckes missed out on a pivotal win. He started from the pole and led 64 laps in the No. 19 MHR Chevrolet, but he crossed the line just behind race-winner Ty Majeski.
"Going back to run a couple of truck races with MHR is going to be a great time", Eckes said in a press release. "Competing in the Xfinity Series with Kaulig Racing this year has been an honor and we're laser focused on getting into the playoffs.
"I feel like we have some unfinished business at Richmond with MHR since we were right on the cusp of winning there last year and across the board at the flat tracks. Those should be two great opportunities to compete for wins and stay sharp on off weeks from the Xfinity schedule."
The race at Richmond will mark a bittersweet occasion for MHR and the Truck Series. This event will feature the No. 16, a number that Bill McAnally has used to win championships in the ARCA Menards Series West. It will also mark the first Truck Series race with the No. 16 since team owner Shigeaki Hattori passed away.
McAnally-Hilgemann Racing -- which previously operated out of the Hattori Racing Enterprises shop -- and Eckes will honor Hattori at Richmond Raceway. They will run the championship-winning team owner's name on the No. 16 Chevrolet as they try to take care of unfinished business and capture the win.
