Chris Buescher has competed in NASCAR since the 2011 season when he made two Xfinity Series starts. Yet, he has never made his move into the Craftsman Truck Series.
That changes this week as he finally makes his debut in the third-tier NASCAR series. Buescher will join ThorSport Racing to drive the No. 66 Ford F-150 at Watkins Glen International, the track where he won last season's Cup Series race.
Buescher, a native of Prosper, Texas, will have FarmPaint.com as the primary sponsor on his red and black No. 66 Ford.

"Watkins Glen has been a special place for me, especially after last year's win, so I'm really looking forward to getting back there," Buescher said in a press release.
"It's a great place for me to make my first-ever Truck Series start, and I'm thankful for Duke, Rhonda, and Allison Thorson for giving me the opportunity to do so."
The RFK Racing driver has achieved success in his limited starts at the New York road course. For example, he finished third in one of his two Xfinity starts at the track.
Buescher has nine Cup Series starts at Watkins Glen International. He won last season's race after a late battle with Shane van Gisbergen. He also finished top 10 in the other two Gen 7 races at the track.
Buescher will be the second fill-in driver as the Craftsman Truck Series heads to Watkins Glen International for only the third time since 2000. Christopher Bell will drive the No. 52 Toyota for Halmar Friesen Racing as he replaces an injured Stewart Friesen.
The two Cup regulars will climb into their respective Truck Series entries on Friday. They will take part in practice at 11:35 a.m. ET before qualifying at 12:40 p.m. ET. The Craftsman Truck Series race will take place at 5 p.m. ET. FS1 will provide coverage as Buescher makes his debut and Bell serves as the fill-in driver.
