Best known for playing a NASCAR legend on screen, a driver is returning to the track

Chad McCumbee has run in all three of the top series in NASCAR over the duration of his career, but he's also well known for his role as Dale Earnhardt Jr. in the movie "3" released by ESPN in 2004.

McCumbee is a driver/owner in the IMSA Sports Car Challenge Series and is set to return to the track this weekend to race at Daytona, according to his website.

McCumbee began his racing career at 10 years old driving go-karts on dirt tracks in 1995. During his 20+ years in racing he's competed in over a dozen different vehicles on more than 50 tracks.

During his career he's raced in the Late Model Stock division, ARCA Series, NASCAR' Truck Series, Xfinity Series and Cup Series, and IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge (CTSCC).

He won the 2015 championship in the CTSCC while driving for retired MLB player CJ Wilson.
