Carson Hocevar is set to make his return to the Craftsman Truck Series after agreeing to run a limited schedule with Spire Motorsports.
Hocevar, who drives full-time in the Cup Series for Spire Motorsports, will take over the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado for four races. His first start will be at Texas Motor Speedway on May 2 (8 p.m. ET on FS1). He will then head to Kansas Speedway for the May 10 race (7:30 p.m. ET on FS1).
Hocevar's third Truck Series start will be the June 7 race at Michigan International Speedway (12 p.m. ET on Fox). His final start in the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado will be at Pocono Raceway on June 20 (5 p.m. ET on FS1).
Hocevar has 77 starts in NASCAR's third-tier series. He made his debut in 2019 with two starts, and then he bumped the number to seven starts in 2020. Hocevar competed full-time in the Truck Series in 2021, '22, and '23 while making the playoffs each season with Niece Motorsports.
The Michigan native's best season was in 2023. Hocevar won his first career race, and then he made three more trips to victory lane. His fourth win put him in the Championship 4 for the first time.
Hocevar finished fourth in the standings in 2023 before graduating to the Cup Series. He has remained away from the Truck Series ever since, but that will change when the calendar turns to May.
Hocevar is the latest driver to join Spire Motorsports for a limited schedule this season. He follows William Byron, Kyle Larson, Corey Day, Justin Haley, and Kyle Busch.
Busch and Larson set a fairly high bar while competing in races this season. Busch won the Truck Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway in February after leading 80 laps. Larson then won at Homestead-Miami Speedway after a late-race battle with Layne Riggs and Corey Heim, whose truck continued to shut off in the closing laps.
