CARS Tour points leader making NASCAR debut

Connor Hall, the points leader in the zMAX CARS Tour Late Model Stock championship, will make his national NASCAR series debut as he competes in the Craftsman Truck Series.

Hall will join McAnally-Hilgemann Racing (MHR) at Richmond Raceway on Saturday, Aug. 10 (7:30 p.m. ET on FS1). He will drive the No. 91 Chevrolet Silverado while A-All Mini Storage serves as his primary partner.

"Every driver wants the chance at an opportunity like this, and I want to make the most of it", Hall said in a press release from MHR.

"Of all the places on the Truck Series schedule, I think Richmond will fit my driving style the best and the kind of racing we have in late model stocks can translate well. I'm incredibly excited for it, and I have to thank Bill McAnally, TowneBank, A-All Mini Storage, and everyone at MHR for making this happen."

The No. 91 Chevrolet Silverado has featured multiple drivers this season. Jack Wood has made nine starts with a season-best finish of 12th at North Wilkesboro Speedway. Vicente Salas drove the entry at World Wide Technology Raceway.

2022 Truck Series champion Zane Smith has driven the No. 91 in five events. He posted three top-five finishes and four top-10s. His best finish was second at Kansas Speedway behind Corey Heim.

Hall will now take over the entry while aiming to capitalize on his short track experience. He will use the Richmond event as a way to cap off a busy weekend in which he will continue to pursue a CARS Tour championship.

The weekend will begin on Friday, Aug. 9. Hall will take part in the late model stock division race at Ace Speedway while trying to maintain his lead over Kevin Harvick Inc. driver Brent Crews.

The Aug. 9 race will be the second of the CARS Tour season at Ace Speedway. Hall finished 12th in the first race back in May while JR Motorsports driver Carson Kvapil won.
