Brexton, Kyle Busch set for family 'rivalry' race

The time has come for father and son to face off on the race track. Kyle Busch and Brexton Busch will race each other this week at a track where they have both achieved success.

According to an announcement video, Busch and Brexton will race each other on Wednesday. Their on-track battle will take place at the famed Millbridge Speedway. Brexton will be in the No. 18 while Busch will be in the No. 51.

DirtVision will provide exclusive broadcast coverage of the Busch family battle. A subscription costs $39.99 per month or $299.99 per year.

The two members of the Busch family are not strangers at Millbridge Speedway. They frequently compete on the dirt track, and they both deliver success behind the wheel of their respective race vehicles.

Back in October 2024, Busch and Brexton both captured championships at Millbridge Speedway on the same night. The veteran NASCAR driver won the championship in the 600cc Winged class at the 1/6-mile dirt oval. He also captured the race win, his fourth of the season.

Brexton then won the track championship in the Restricted Micro division. He finished the race second to clinch the title, but he ended the season with four prior wins. The young racer also ended the season third in the Box Stock division standings after winning four races.

Five months after winning championships, these two racers will now face off at the fan-favorite track. This time, there will be some bragging rights on the line.

The elder Busch dropped a teaser for this matchup after Sunday's race at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He made a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that said, "News at 18:51 on Monday."

This obviously created intrigue considering Busch's ties to those particular numbers. He won two Cup Series championships and an Xfinity Series championship behind the wheel of the No. 18. He won 44 Truck Series races in the No. 51.

Racing fans had numerous theories about the meaning behind this cryptic tweet. Some thought the two-time Cup champion was moving to 23XI Racing to drive a Toyota with one of his former numbers. Other fans thought he was set to announce his retirement. Some thought he would reunite with Joe Gibbs Racing in 2026.

The majority of theories were incorrect. However, one social media user guessed that Busch and Brexton would race against each other.
