Day finished second and third in the Euro Series during the last two seasons. He competed in two races in the NASCAR XFINITY Series and two races in the Camping World Truck Series.

"I'm very excited to make my debut in the Cup Series," Day said according to Motorsport. "There's no better way for me to make my debut than on a road course and I can't wait to get behind the wheel of the No. 23 Toyota."

Day also thanked the Euro Series for supporting him and for the opportunity to drive in that series.

It's unclear how many races Day will compete in for the Cup Series, but it appears as if he will have a chance to make an impression on the series starting next week at Sonoma.
