Adam Stevens: 'No reason' Christopher Bell can't extend win streak

Christopher Bell has won two races in a row on two wildly different track styles. According to crew chief Adam Stevens, this streak could very well continue for the next two weeks.

After all, the Cup Series now heads to Phoenix Raceway and Las Vegas Motor Speedway, tracks where Bell has had success.

"This week (at COTA), we certainly did have circled, and we were a little disappointed when we unloaded as far off as we did," Stevens said Sunday night after celebrating the team's second consecutive win.

"I tell you that we have the next two weeks circled as well. There's no reason we can't go win the next two weeks."

There are multiple reasons for this confidence about Bell extending the win streak. One is the speed that Joe Gibbs Racing Toyotas have shown on intermediate tracks. Another is Bell's track record at Phoenix and Las Vegas.

The Oklahoma native has made 10 starts at Phoenix Raceway. He has finished in the top 10 in six of them. This run includes a win in last season's spring race and a top-five finish in the season finale. Bell has led 193 laps combined in his last two trips to Phoenix.

Bell hasn't yet won at Las Vegas, but he has come close on multiple occasions. He has five top-10 finishes and three top-fives. He finished second in the 2023 playoff race after starting from the pole and leading 61 laps.

He then finished second in last season's playoff race after starting from the pole and leading 155 laps. Joey Logano's fuel strategy call of pitting early and saving was the deciding factor.

Will Bell continue this success at these two intermediate tracks and extend his winning streak? He fully believes he is capable, and he said it was "awesome" that Stevens has these two tracks circled. He just has to deliver behind the wheel.

"I'm excited about what's to come," Bell said after winning at COTA. "We have high expectations and high hopes and goals for this year.

"Frankly, the last couple of years being at Joe Gibbs Racing in this No. 20 car, I haven't been living up to the standards that I hold for myself. Our goal going into 2025 is to do that, or my goal is to do that for myself. I know, Adam Stevens, he feels the same way. He feels that we're capable of a lot of great things."
