Aaron's announces return to the NASCAR Cup Series

A classic sponsor is returning to the NASCAR Cup Series. Aaron's is back after inking a partnership with Front Row Motorsports.

According to the press release, Aaron's will take over as the primary sponsor for eight races this season. The lease-to-own company will first join forces with Todd Gilliland this weekend. It will then join Zane Smith for seven races.

"I can't wait to hit the track with Aaron's," said Gilliland. "They are one of the most recognizable brands in the history of NASCAR, and I'm super excited to represent that legacy on the track this year.

"Atlanta has been a good track for me. Its superspeedway style of racing creates a great show and puts me in contention for a good result. Hopefully, I can put Aaron's in Victory Lane in their first race back in NASCAR."

Smith's schedule will begin with Phoenix Raceway on March 9. It will continue with Homestead-Miami Speedway on March 16 and Bristol Motor Speedway on April 13.

The rest of the Aaron's schedule includes Atlanta Motor Speedway on June 28, Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 27, Daytona International Speedway on Aug. 23, and Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 2.

A partnership between Aaron's and Front Row Motorsports is only the latest example of the company's ties to NASCAR. It was heavily involved in the sport for several seasons while sponsoring drivers and races.

The Aaron's 499 was the name of the spring race at Talladega Superspeedway. This sponsorship began with the 2002 race and continued through the 2014 spring race. Geico then took over as the spring race's title sponsor in 2015 after previously sponsoring the fall race.

The Aaron's 312 was the Nationwide Series race at Talladega Superspeedway for several seasons.

The NASCAR ties continued with primary sponsorship of Brett Moffitt, Mark Martin, Trevor Bayne, Brian Vickers, and David Reutimann. These drivers all controlled what was known as the Aaron's Dream Machine during Nationwide or Cup Series races.

Gilliland and Smith will be the next two drivers to join this list as the longtime sponsor returns to the sport.

"I'm really excited to be a part of Aaron's next chapter in NASCAR," Smith said in a press release. "They've been one of the most recognizable brands in the history of the sport, and I can't wait to have them on the 38 car throughout the 2025 season."
