A major change takes place at Team Penske after the 2025 NTT IndyCar Series season. Two-time champion Will Power and Team Penske will part ways after 17 seasons together.
Rumors of this split have persisted throughout the 2025 season, but Team Penske confirmed it will happen with a postseason press release. The team announced the news on Sept. 2, two days after the season finale at Nashville Superspeedway.
"As we sat down to talk about our future together, Will felt that it was time for him to make a change beginning with next season," said team owner Roger Penske. "He has been an outstanding driver and teammate for our organization.
"His results speak for themselves, and we wish him the very best in the next phase of his career."
An incredible 17 years together.

Power made his Team Penske debut during the 2009 season. He ran a part-time schedule and scored his first win for the team at Edmonton City Centre Airport. He went on to join the team on a full-time basis in 2010, and he has since remained a cornerstone of the organization.
Power won 42 of his 45 career races for Team Penske, which included the Indianapolis 500 in 2018. He won the IndyCar Series title in 2014 and 2022. As a sign of Power's consistency, he only went winless in one season (2023). He won at least two races in 11 IndyCar Series seasons.
The Australia native is fourth all-time in IndyCar wins behind AJ Foyt (67), Scott Dixon (59), and Mario Andretti (52). He holds the series record for the most starts from the pole position (71).
"It's been the honor of my life to drive for Roger and the Penske organization," Power said. "We have accomplished so much together, and I will always be grateful for my time with the team and my teammates who have supported me along the way.
"After much consideration, I felt like a change for me was the right move at this time."
