New Hampshire Motor Speedway weekend schedule, forecast

NASCAR returns to New Hampshire Motor Speedway this weekend with two national series races.

Xfinity Series teams will race Saturday afternoon at the 1.058-mile track. John Hunter Nemechek won last season's race.

Cup teams will race on Sunday afternoon. Martin Truex Jr., who will retire from full-time competition after the season, won last season's race.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour will also be in action with a Saturday evening race. Justin Bonsignore is the defending winner at New Hampshire.

Note: NASCAR changed the Saturday schedule due to the forecast.

New Hampshire Motor Speedway forecast and schedule

Friday forecast: Scattered thunderstorms in the morning and possible showers in the afternoon. A high of 74 degrees and a 34% chance of rain at the start of Xfinity practice.

Saturday forecast: Rain showers throughout the day. A high of 67 degrees and a 42% chance of rain at the start of Cup qualifying. A high of 68 degrees and a 66% chance of rain at the start of the Xfinity race.

Sunday forecast: Rain showers in the morning and scattered thunderstorms as the day progresses. A high of 78 degrees and a 49% chance of rain at the start of the Cup race.
