Infiniti Q60 Driver Doing 120 MPH in a Construction Zone Gets Jailed

|

When you own a sports car like the Infiniti Q60, it's only expected that you're going to want to push it to its ultimate limits.

That being said, maybe doing 120 MPH in a construction zone isn't the best time and place to test the Infiniti Q60's pure speed. And it's certainly not the best way to go about staying under the radar. Pun intended.

Unfortunately for one Indiana man, he was pulled over by state police doing twice the legal limit in a heavily-marked construction zone, and after being taken to jail, was promptly put on blast for all of the Internet to see.

Per The Drive:

According to the Indiana State Police, trooper Nick Klingkammer spotted a silver Infiniti Q60 traveling at a high rate of speed along a construction zone on Interstate Highway 69 near the city of Fishers, where a combination of on-site workers and redirected lanes warrant a reduced speed limit. The officer, who was at the wheel of an unmarked Ford Mustang police car, proceeded to pull over the speeder after his radar clocked him at double the speed limit.

Once police officer Klingkammer caught up and stopped the speeding vehicle, it's reported that the driver simply "asked for a warning." It's not known what else the interaction between the two parties entailed, but this tweet by Indiana State Police Sgt. John Perrine claims that the driver did not receive a warning--instead he "went to jail."

As you may be able to tell from trooper Klingkammer's tweeted-out picture, the car depicted is a current-generation Infiniti Q60. Engine-wise, the new q60 could be powered by either a 208-horsepowered, 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder or a 3.0-liter twin-turbo v6 ranging anywhere from 300 to 400 horsepower.

Either way, the q60 coupe is easily getting past 120 MPH, especially if it's rocking a v6 engine. Naturally, then, with a ride like that, you're clearly feeling the need for speed.

But, with this guy facing $5,000 in fines and a maximum sentence of a year in jail, letting that need for speed take hold definitely wasn't worth it in this case.
