Everyday, police officers help out stranded motorists. But it's not every day that they come within inches of getting hit.

But that's what happened to a police officer in Hurst, Texas. He was helping a stranded motorist when a car hit a patch of ice. The officer, Jonathan Cramer, saw the car coming -- and slipped on the ice himself. The car then crashed into the back of the strandard motorists vehicle.

"I was trying to get out of the way as fast as I could," Cramer told WFAA-TV. "It was pretty close, I'd say a couple feet. From my hand to the tire, less than that."

The police department released the video on its Facebook page, and it quickly received more than 600,000 page views.
