Ford recalling hundreds of thousands of F-150s and Explorers for possible safety defect

Ford is recalling 202,000 F-150s and Explorers due to an issue with their seat cushions. The recall affects certain 2016 models equipped with power seats, and the company has said no injuries have been reported.

The company says that a bolt in the power seat adjuster can come loose or fall out. If this happens, the seat will move too far and will fail to properly hold people in the event of a crash.

Parts for a final repair are not yet available, but for now Ford will perform a bolt inspection. If the bolt passes inspection, it will be tightened after an adhesive is used to make sure it doesn't rattle loose again.

Owners will receive notifications after January 8th, 2018.
