Anthony Alfredo returning to Cup racing at Talladega

Anthony Alfredo has added another Cup Series start to his season schedule as he has reunited with Beard Motorsports.

Alfredo, who competes full-time in Xfinity, will drive for Beard at Talladega Superspeedway in October. He will return to the No. 62 Chevrolet Camaro while working with a new primary sponsor. Fortify Building Solutions will make its first foray into NASCAR for the superspeedway race.

"I am so excited to have the opportunity to get back behind the wheel of the No. 62 Chevrolet Camaro for Beard Motorsports," Alfredo said in a statement. "I am even more thankful for the support of Fortify Building Solutions for making it possible.

"This partnership really resonates with me, given my family background in the construction industry. I look forward to building a long-term relationship as strong as their metal building products."

Alfredo drove for Beard for the first time in February. He joined the team for the Daytona 500 and qualified for the 40-car field. He finished 27th after being involved in a 23-car incident in the final stage.

Alfredo returned to Beard Motorsports for the spring race at Talladega in April. He started 24th but avoided incidents before finishing sixth. This was a career-best finish for Alfredo and the second-best finish in Beard Motorsports history.

Only Noah Gragson had a better finish in the No. 62 Chevrolet Camaro when he crossed the line fifth at Daytona in 2022.

Alfredo has made 40 starts at NASCAR's top level. He was full-time with Front Row Motorsports in 2021 and he has since made four starts split between Live Fast Motorsports and Beard Motorsports.

Talladega has been Alfredo's best track. He has made three starts at the 2.66-mile Alabama track. His worst finish is 12th in 2021. Both of Alfredo's top-10 finishes in Cup were at Talladega.

While Alfredo will make his return to Beard Motorsports in October, another driver will make his series debut with the single-car team in August. Parker Retzlaff will join Beard for the summer race at Daytona as he drives a Cup car for the first time.
