2-Year-Old Girl Turns on the Waterworks After Her Dad Sells Her Favorite Car

Most of us don't enjoy being adults, but that's probably because we forgot how hard it is being a little kid. Everything is so confusing and new. You have to eat these slimy green things called "veggies." Every day, you have to do weird stuff like "take a bath" and "brush your teeth." You don't want to do any of these things, but the grown-ups in your life just keep insisting, every single day. So, imagine how you'd feel if your very favorite-ist car in the whole wide world suddenly wasn't there.

A Jalopnik reader named Austin sold his 2001 Volkswagen Jetta VR6 after owning the car for 14 years. We all know how hard it is to part with something that you've taken care of for over a decade. The memories. The adventures. It's not easy to part with something you've loved for so long.

But, for this two-year-old little girl, the Jetta was something she'd known her entire life. It was Daddy's car, and it was her favorite.

Austin says, "Most of her road time is spent in her mom's boring ol' Corolla, but when it was time to hoon with dad, she'd always get a smile on her face and squeal, 'Daddy's car! Vroom-VROOOM!!' We'd '3... 2... 1... Blastoff!' at every stop sign..."

Honestly, haven't we all felt her pain? Watching all of our memories drive away makes counting the pile of cash we got in exchange seem just kind of meaningless, doesn't it? Maybe we don't scream in anguish like this little girl does, but we feel it, don't we? After all, we're only human.

This young lady is more prepared for loss and disappointment than many of us are, however. As she suggests at the end of the video, the best recourse is to just go nap about it. Everything is different after a nap.
