Pro Drifter Smokes Thanksgiving Turkey With His Souped-up Mustang GTR

Talented chef and expert drifter Vaughn Gitten Jr. is here to show you the best way to cook your bird this Thanksgiving holiday. Well, maybe not the best per se, but definitely the coolest.

All you need is a Mustang RTR and a serious need for speed. You simply take your turkey, throw it into a broiling dish, place it behind your RTR, and then let 'er rip.

To get it just right, Gittin recommends placing prepped turkey right behind the rear wheels of an RTR and engaging line lock, before having at it. This applies the front brakes to keep the car stationary while power is sent to the rears, creating a decent amount of tire smoke. You can't say it doesn't work until you try it yourself, right?

Now, if you're not into Vaughn's style when it comes to smoking a turkey, that's fine. It's definitely not for everyone. Even if you're not convinced of the guy's skills as a chef though, you can't deny his skills as a drifting pro.

The Joppa, Maryland native is self-taught drifter, and has the second most wins in Formula Drift history with 10, and has also racked up 22 career podiums. As the founder of RTR Motorsports, he has burned some serious rubber behind the wheel of an S550-based Ford Mustang RTR powered by a Ford Performance/Roush Yates 436 V8, which churns out around 900 horsepower and 750 lb-ft of torque. In 2018, Vaughn added another accolade to his long list, when he become the first person to drift the entirety of the Nurburgring track in Germany. This dude smokes turkey AND the competition. What a legend!
