Robinson burst onto the X Games scene before it was even a scene. A prolific New England BMX rider since the mid 80's, Robinson joined the Hoffman Bikes team in 1992 and competed in the inaugural X Games in 1995. Over his career, Robinson won 10 X Game medals including four gold. It was at the 2006 X Games that Robinson landed a double flair, the first rider to ever do so.
Robinson holds several records. Among them is how high he got above a quarter pipe - 27 feet, something that hasn't been equaled. He also holds a Guinness record for longest powered-assisted bike backflip. Robinson jumped a span of 84 feet in front of a hometown crowd in Providence, Rhode Island.
The BMX community reacted to the news of Robinson's death.
