The new Hennessy TrackHawk performance package is just out of control

Recently, we here at Altdriver have become pretty obsessed with the new Jeep Trackhawk, I mean isn't everyone? In August I compared the Trackhawk's $86,995 starting price against it's only real competition, fancy Performance SUVs from Mercedes and BMW. The conclusion was you got more power and performance for less money with the Jeep, and maybe just maybe a little less luxury.

Well, its been about a month so naturally someone has already figured out how to add even more ponies to the already beastly 707 horsepower Hellcat engine in the Jeep. Watch out Euro SUV's because Hennessey Performance just developed a package that's going to transform this Grand Cherokee into a 1,012 horsepower track animal.

That's right, Hennessey is adding an even larger 4.5 liter supercharger to the Trackhawk and pairing it with a slew of supporting mods to make this not only powerful, but reliable. They call it the HPE1000, and it will also include long tube headers, upgraded fuel injectors and fuel pump, high-flow supercharger bypass, a high flow air induction system and a custom tune. This setup will produce 14 psi of boost and because they are using a twin-screw type of blower, the boost will come in almost instantaneously. Not only is the horsepower mind boggling impressive, but the torque numbers are just flat out stupid at 969 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm.

Performance is right up there with any P100D Tesla or modified GTR. The modified Trackhawk will now blaze past 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and finish the quarter miles in an amazing 10.5 at 133 mph. No price announcement just yet, but figure you could probably buy the Trackhawk, get the Hennessey kit and still be pretty close to a new Mercedes-Benz GLE63. I know what I'd do.
