Denny Hamlin's Worst Date Experience Ended in His Prom Date Breaking His Heart

It's always interesting to learn something new about a NASCAR Cup Series driver's personal life. Believe it or not, they've got just as many embarrassing stories as the rest of us. Heck, maybe a few more.

In the video below, Rutledge Wood asked a few popular Cup drivers to describe the worst date they've ever been on, and in return, he got some pretty great responses.

Take Denny Hamlin's story, for example. Before the fame, he was just looking for a prom date. After his crush agreed to go with him, things didn't exactly go according to plan. By the end of the prom, his date was spotted dancing with his best friend.

To add insult to injury, he asked her what was going on, and she explained that she was much more into his friend. That's got to be a shot to the ego, but the joke's on her in the end. You know, since Hamlin went on to make it big in the sport of NASCAR.

Ryan Blaney also had a few bad experiences with dating. On one particular instance, he got "fake phone called." He arrived at the restaurant on a first date, and shortly after, his date decided to fake a phone call so that she could ditch him.

The best part of the story is that, since they had already seated, Blaney stayed at the table so that he could order and finish his meal. Even though he was alone. That's how you handle being rejected like a gentleman! Blaney undeniably shows he can keep his cool both on and off the race track.

There's tons of other embarrassing stories in this video, so it's definitely worth the four minutes. Shoutout to Rutledge for breaking up the racing talk with some entertaining off-the-track discussion.
