Four-wheel drive is all about control and traction. All four wheels rotate independent of one another, and that keeps them resistance to the forces of slippage when cornering or hitting a spot of water. Front wheel drive is about efficiency. Right underneath the engine, those wheels turn as fast as they can with little loss of force, but braking can be tough on your rotors and pads coming down from high speeds. Rear wheel drive, on the other hand, is about power. You'll see why.
